The SensePoint CAN remote wireless CAN interface is a very small device that connects to a CAN bus on a device. It monitors messages on the bus and sends the values to a gateway for transmission to the cloud. It has 32 message filters to identify specific messages that need to be monitored. Also, it receives messages from the cloud for transmission on the bus. It connects to vehicles, controllers, PLCs and industrial equipment.
The SensePoint CAN connects wirelessly to a Nexus Industrial or Nexus Panel gateway for communication with cloud servers. This wireless link is an 802.15.4 radio using a version of the Thread protocol. Other radios and protocols will be available in the future. The SensePoint CAN is configured in the cloud from a web page. The configuration data is sent to the SensePoint through the gateway and over the radio. The website is accessed from anywhere, so no special programming software or cables are needed. This makes setting up the system and installing it into end devices very simple and quick.
Power and CAN data are on M8 connectors, providing a rugged watertight connection. It has a wide 9 to 36VDC power supply supports the power ranges that are already present on most industrial equipment and vehicles. A wireless link to the gateway eliminates the need to install data cables.
The SensePoint CAN remote wireless CAN interface is housed in an IP67/68 diecast aluminum enclosure. It is rugged and designed for harsh industrial and outdoor environments. This enclosure has an integrated mounting flange that makes installation simple into new and existing systems.
