The SensePoint Motor wireless sensor hub verifies the health of electric motors by monitoring the motor currents and temperatures of various components. The readings from the sensors are wirelessly sent to a cellular gateway for transmission to the cloud. From there, the data is graphed, analyzed and acted upon. It has three 1V Current Transformer (CT) channels for monitoring electric current on each motor phase. It also has eight PT100 RTD channels for temperature monitoring. A single optoisolated input monitors contact closures or alerts from the motor or motor controller. A digital pulse input monitors switches or pulse sensors, such as flow meters.
The SensePoint Motor connects wirelessly to a Nexus Industrial or Nexus Panel gateway for communication with cloud servers. This wireless link is a long-range 900MHz or an 802.15.4 radio using a version of the Thread protocol. The SensePoint Motor is configured in the cloud from a web page. The configuration data is sent to the SensePoint through the gateway and over the radio. The website is accessed from anywhere, so no special programming software or cables are needed. The wireless link to the gateway eliminates the need to install data cables making installation and operation extremely simple.
The SensePoint Motor wireless sensor hub is housed in an IP67/68 diecast aluminum enclosure. It is powered from 9 to 36V, supporting power ranges that are already present on many motor systems. An integrated mounting flange makes installation simple. The SensePoint Motor wireless sensor hub is ideal for monitoring DC electric motor systems.
